Treating hip dysplasia in dogs has different approaches:
a. Weight loss: This is the best option and one of the easiest approaches in treating hip dysplasia. Losing weight reduces the stress on joints hence reducing pain.
b. Glucosamine supplements: There a number of hip and joint supplements and treats that are loaded with Glucosamine and Chondroitin. These two are known to manage arthritis and canine hip dysplasia.
c. Exercises: An optimal amount of regular exercises is a must for your dogs. The veterinarian might also prescribe physical therapy for your dogs to improve the range of motion and relieve pain. Swimming is also a great option for dogs with joint pain and arthritis.
